Change of Plans...Again

Treatment plans have changed again.  After taking the weekend to think about it and consult with colleagues, the surgeon has decided it is not in Mike's best interest to delay the surgery.  He has a pre-op consult scheduled for next Wednesday (June 9) at 12:00, during which time the procedure will be discussed, all the paperwork will get sorted out, blood tests will be drawn, etc., and he'll be informed of the date of surgery.  Mike said he is feeling very much like a yo yo at the moment.  Please keep him in your thoughts as he and the doctors prepare for the next steps.

Hi Mike,

I tried to comment yesterday, but had problems. Trying again today.
Just wanted to let you know our hearts and prayers are with you. Also Tom had the entire right lobe of his liver removed 22 years ago and is doing well today with no liver medication or side effects. His liver function is normal. The surgery was done in Rochester, and in 5 days we were on a plane back to Phx and his drs. in phx took over. The surgery was tough, but he has no effects today. Now his lungs are a different story, but that is from years of cigarette abuse. I hope this is encourageing for you. We are thinking about you and if you have any liver surgery questions as a patient Tom will be glad to share. We are certainly not minimizing this, but just sharing the experience. Again we understand your emotional, physical, and spiratual pain, and are praying for the best for you and your family. We love this blog site and it is wonderful we live in the age of instant news. Take care and you have our love. Mary Jean and Tom
